I’m teaching my Dynamic Post Processing workshop again in Wilmette. (By the way, it’s pretty awesome)
This workshop will be at Panera Bread in Wilmette, Saturday, November 23rd. I have reserved the private meeting room. I will be showing you everything that I do to process my images. Bring your laptop if you have one. There will be time during the workshop to edit photos. I’ll be right alongside when you want some advice. If you don’t have a laptop, you can follow along with the other participants.

Morning shoot
The morning shoot is optional, but if you’re coming out this way, why not take advantage of the location and hit some of the best places on the Northshore?
6:30: (Optional: For the brave and warmly dressed) Meet on the beach at the Evanston Arts Center. Check the weather the night before and bring appropriate clothing. Wear appropriate shoes for the beach. Make sure that you have a tripod and flashlight.
8:15: We’ll pack up and head up the road to the Baha’i Temple while the light is still good.
10:00: Meet at Panera Bread in Wilmette. Grab a coffee, set up your laptop, and get comfortable. I’ll have bagels and cream cheese for you.
10:30-4:00: The workshop will go from 10:30-3:00. We’ll break in the middle for lunch. I’ll hang out until 4 to answer questions.
Workshop Curriculum
Preparing the image in Lightroom or Camera RAW
Combining Multiple Images using HDR software
Making your images “pop” using Photoshop (or Lightroom, Elements, etc.). This is where the magic happens. I’ll show you exactly what I do. Some of these things may completely change the way you approach your post processing.
Apply the finishing touches in Photoshop. I’ll show you all the little tricks that I use to finish off an image.

- You are going to see exactly how I edit my images and you can stop me to ask questions along the way.
- If the weather cooperates, we are going to get awesome images in the morning to work on during the workshop.
- Panera has awesome food! You’ll have time to grab a bagel when we get back from our shoot and we’ll break in the middle for lunch.
- You’ll leave with a ton of new ideas to try in your processing, along with a cheat sheet with all of the shortcuts and techniques that I use in Photoshop and Lightroom and a copy of the workshop notes.
- You get to hang out with me and some other fun photographers! It’s going to be a great time.
The cost of the workshop is $100. This includes everything except for lunch from Panera.
